I’ve been in front of my Mac an awful lot lately. Mostly for productive reasons, and yes, I do admit to a little stalking of the Leica and Apple kind, but I am a geek after all. So just when I decided that my eyes were literally starting to bail on me (you know it’s a sign when you are thinking about putting on reading glasses so you can see your 27″ iMac screen better) Apple finally releases Aperture 3. Ah, all the best intentions….just went out the window. It’s semi cold out anyway. Any excuse will do. Oh the hell with it, I once again embrace my inner geek-no excuses.
So I hastily placed my order for the upgrade version yesterday morning and now I’m stalking DHL GlobalMail (I thought DHL went under…should I be worried?) and, of course, the tracking number yields nada-can’t be found, whatever (again, should I be worried?). What’s worse is that it’s been so flippin’ long since Aperture released a new version (2 years ago to be exact) that I forgot that you can download the trial and then purchase it online and have instant gratification. Crap. Of course, I realized this after it was too late to cancel my order.
Oh well. At least I’m getting small discount this way, thanks to my NAPP membership (the irony here being that I rarely uses Photoshop anymore because I can do most everything in Aperture) but hey, I love NAPP! You get discounts on all kinds of goodies for a small yearly fee and tons of resources for photographers…well worth the membership. Now back to my regularly scheduled stalking.
